Artist_News Artist Heemin Chung Held Solo Exhibition at Thaddaeus Ropac London
The first solo exhibition abroad of Heemin Chung (b. 1987), who has explored the boundaries of painting through various artistic experiments, titled “UMBRA,” is being held at the world-renowned gallery Thaddaeus Ropac in London until November 20. This exhibition marks her first solo show at the gallery after signing with Thaddaeus Ropac last year.
Artist_Global K-Art Ik-Joong Kang’s Large-scale Installation ‘Four Temples’ to Be Displayed in Front of the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt
Ik-Joong Kang, a representative Korean installation artist, has been invited as the first Korean artist to participate in “FIN: Forever Is Now”, the annual international art exhibition. In response, Kang will present his new large-scale installation work, Four Temples (2024), in front of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Pyramids of Giza, from October 24 to November 16.

Biennale_News Binna Choi Appointed as Artistic Director for the 61st Venice Biennale Korean Pavilion
The Arts Council Korea (ARKO) has appointed curator Binna Choi as the Artistic Director for the Korean Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia (Venice Biennale) in 2026.
Binna Choi previously served as a curator for the 2016 Gwangju Biennale and as a co-artistic director for the 2022 Singapore Biennale. She was the Director of Casco Art Institute in the Netherlands from 2008 to 2023. She is currently serving as a co-artistic director for the Hawai‘i Triennial 2025, which runs until May 4 this year.

Nonprofit_News Korean Performances Officially Invited to the 2026 Festival d’Avignon After 28 Years
As Korean has been selected as the guest language of the 80th Festival d’Avignon, the festival’s board announced on the 8th that a total of nine works by seven Korean performing arts groups have been selected for the official program (IN). This marks the first time in approximately 28 years that Korean works have been officially invited, since “Désir d’Asie” in 1998.
