Gladstone
has announced the expansion and relocation of its Seoul gallery to a new space
in Hannam-dong, one of the city’s leading arts and cultural districts, later
this summer.
This
move is particularly notable as it establishes a new foothold in Hannam-dong,
an area densely populated with major institutions such as the Leeum Museum of
Art, as well as prominent local and international galleries. With a growing
number of global galleries—including Esther Schipper—relocating to the
neighborhood, Hannam-dong is rapidly emerging as a key hub in Seoul’s art
market. Through this expansion, Gladstone aims to further strengthen its
presence in Asia.
Gladstone
Seoul’s new space will occupy two floors within the Hannam Building at 739-28
Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, doubling its current exhibition area. The
building has been designed by the internationally renowned architecture firm
Mass Studies, led by architect Minsuk Cho.
In late
summer 2026, Gladstone Seoul will inaugurate its new space with a major solo
exhibition by British contemporary artist Ed Atkins—marking the artist’s first
solo exhibition in Seoul.
