《Amateur》, 2025.03.05 – 2025.03.29, Nook Gallery
The exhibition series 《Teacher and Student》 began in 2017 with its first edition, 《Painting and Painting》, and has continued for nine iterations up to 2025. Initiated by artist Kim Ji-won, the series became Nook Gallery’s annual opening exhibition, marking the start of each year. It began with the hope of offering young artists taking their first steps into society a small gateway to opportunity, and over the years, it has become a platform introducing many emerging artists who work with sincerity and passion.

Artist Kim Yesul: Reinterpreting Communities and Places in Everyday Life
Kim Yesul (b. 1989) is interested in reinterpreting the communities and places encountered in our everyday lives, creating specific situations that allow them to be observed from the perspective of a third party. In particular, the artist focuses on the multiple narratives that emerge simultaneously in contemporary society, the layered phenomena that arise within them, and the beings excluded from society, continuing a practice that unfolds these concerns at the intersection of art and design.

Serin Oh (b. 1987) explores the boundaries within seemingly binary categories—such as original and copy, reality and virtuality, and the new and the discarded—revealing points where competing systems of value collide through craft, objects, video, and text-based works. Her practice questions the perceptions and assumptions that underpin everyday life and social structures, often staging ironic situations within exhibition spaces.
