Artist Heejung Choi: On Marginalized and Excluded Beings
Heejung Choi (b. 1987) has developed her practice around an interest in what is marginalized, excluded, or unable to become part of the mainstream, as well as what was once central but later disregarded. Working primarily with video, she addresses the overlooked and excluded domains within a neoliberal system that prioritizes growth and progress. Through this, the artist ultimately seeks to explore the human condition and the meaning of life.

The Busan Museum of Art has organized the 《Highlighting Korean Contemporary Artist》 exhibition series to introduce artists positioned at key points within contemporary Korean art. The fourth edition in 2022, 《Highlighting Korean Contemporary Artist IV – Hyungkoo Lee》, presents the world of Hyungkoo Lee, an artist who continues to explore the theme of the ‘body’ through his original sculptural language.

《Silent Landscape-City of Symptoms》, 2019.11.08 – 2020.01.15, Museum Hanmi Samcheong
MoPS Museum Hanmi Samcheong Annex presents Lee Gapchul’s new exhibition 《Silent Mountains–City of Symptoms》 as its inaugural exhibition. The show consists of 26 urban photographs taken by Lee, who has established his identity over the past thirty years as a subjective documentary photographer through representative works such as ‘Land of Others’, ‘Conflict and Reaction’, and ‘Energy’.
